It was a sad moment for a 28-year-old man based in Kubwa, a satellite town in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, after he lost his valuables, including his computer laptop, mobile phones, huge amount of money in cash and other items, to a woman he met on Facebook and invited over to his house for the weekend, Daily Trust reports.
It was gathered that the man, an artisan who resides at Berger Camp in Phase 2, Site 1, area of Kubwa, and the lady who claimed to live in another part of the city, met on the social mediaplatform and they started dating online, and after a while, he invited the woman over.
It was gathered that when the woman went to visit the man, she had with her a handbag containing some items including a wrap of couscous, a sort of meal made from semolina wheat using water to blend it.
A source close to the man narrated that after the man and the lady had exhausted themselves with several rounds of sex, the woman prepared the couscous which she had brought and immediately the man took it, he became unconscious.
“As soon as the man became dizzy, the woman took his laptop, phones and all his cash and left the house,” the source said.
It was learnt that when the man regained consciousness, he discovered that his Facebook over had taken his properties and left the house and when he tried to connect with her online, her accounts had been deleted.
He reported the matter to the Kubwa Police State where the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Chief Superintendent Nuruddeen Sabo, confirmed the incident, saying the police is making efforts at tracking the woman through her network provider.
