Saraki vows not to resign

Bukola Saraki

Senate President, Bukola Saraki has vowed not to resign despite the trials, allegations and tribulations he's currently going through.

According to a report by Punch Newspaper, Saraki vowed not to succumb to calls for his resignation claiming he remains innocent until proven guilty.
Responding to statements and call for his resignation, Saraki's Special Adviser on Media, Yusuph Olaniyonu, said the Senate President would not yield to the growing pressure.
In a statement by Olaniyonu, which was published by Premium Times, Saraki is neither contemplating resignation nor feeling guilty.
There’s a case in the Tribunal and a resultant appeal at the Court of Appeal," the statement read.
'The underlining philosophy of our legal system is that an accused person is presumed innocent until found guilty.”
'Those who are contemplating calls for resignation want to circumvent the judicial system. They are obviously being sponsored by some politicians.
'The Senate President is not contemplating any resignation. He will surely have his day in court,' Olaniyonu stated.
Saraki further blamed the call for his resignation on politicians, who are covetous and are yearning for his position.

The best natural remedies for uterine fibroids against myomectomy

Uterine fibroids are non-cancerous tumors of the uterus. Uterine fibroids are also known as leiomyomata, myomas or uterine polyps. Uterine fibroids grow within the muscles of the uterus, on the outside of the uterus, hang in the uterine cavity or very rarely form within the cervix. They can range in size from microscopic to several inches in diameter. Uterine fibroids form in the childbearing years of a woman’s life. There may be just one fibroid or many, with differing locations. Uterine fibroids are rarely a cause for concern, but when they become too large, or there are many present, they may become a problem.
The picture below describe various type of Uterine Fibroids
Causes of Uterine Fibroids

Though a large percentage of women suffer from uterine fibroids, doctors are actually unsure of what causes them to occur. What they do know however, is that estrogen and progesterone contribute to the growth of the fibroids.
Estrogen and progesterone are at their highest levels during a woman’s childbearing years, this is why uterine fibroids are thought to develop during this time. Normally, after a woman goes through menopause her body produces lower levels of estrogen and progesterone causing the fibroids to begin to shrink and any associated symptoms, such as pain and pressure to subside.www.amazingfitnessoption.com
Uterine fibroids are hormone dependent. They develop during the hormonally active years and decline in menopause. Fibroid tissue has a higher amount of estrogen and progesterone receptors. Fibroid tissue is hypersensitive to estrogen, but does not have the capacity to regulate estrogenresponse, this is why they can grow to become quite large. Other hormones play a role in the growth of uterine fibroids as well, including prolactin, parathyroid hormone, insulin growth factor, and pituitary growth hormone.www.amazingfitnessoption.com

Symptoms of Uterine Fibroids
While many women will never even know that they have uterine fibroids, because the condition often exhibits no symptoms, there are some women that will experience certain effects from the fibroid’s presence. Symptoms of uterine fibroids include:
• A sensation of fullness or pressure in the abdominal area
• Excessive bleeding during menstruation
• Excessive length of menstruation
• Extreme cramping during menstruation
• Lower back pain
• Painful intercourse
• A frequent urge to urinate

Uterine Fibroids May Negatively Impact Conception and Pregnancy
Fibroids are thought to be the cause of infertility in 2%-10% of infertility cases. Reports have shown uterine fibroids may be responsible for the following fertility, conception and pregnancy problems:
• Interference with implantation of the ovum
• Compressing the fallopian tubes, preventing conception
• Anovulatory cycles
• Abnormal uterine blood flow, hindering movement of sperm to ova
• Miscarriage
• Intrauterine growth retardation (IUGR)
• Premature rupture of the membranes
• Contributing to retained placenta after birth
• A postpartum hemorrhage
• An abnormal labor

Natural Therapy To Get Rid Of Uterine Fibroids
Following are remedies which may be effective in shrinking or eliminating fibroid tumors as well as alleviating discomfort and symptoms:

1.)  Fibroids can be reduced by consuming at least three servings of whole grains and/or beans daily. Whole grain and beans also protect against breast and endometrial cancer.

2.)  Liver cleanses and drinking plenty of water to expel toxins from the body may also be very helpful.
3.)  Warm castor oil packs placed on the stomach is another effective method of shrinking fibroids and relieving pain. Ginger compresses are also effective.

4.)  Exercise helps the body to free itself of toxins and regulate ovulation. Some women experience tumor reduction while following a vigorous exercise program.

Lastly, taking a variety of digestive enzymes in quantity several times a day on an empty stomach has been reported to be very effective at removing fibroid tissue. For more information, visitwww.amazingfitnessoption.com

Amaechi calls Gov. Wike a threat to democracy

The Governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike

Transportation Minister, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi has referred to the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike of Rivers State as a threat to democracy.

Amaechi took several swipes at the Rivers' governor while reacting to several allegations made by the governor saying the Transport Minister and the Independent National Electoral Commission are conniving to upturn results of 8 LG in the Rivers Rerun election.
The minister also insisted that Gov. Wike's ploy is a means of destroying a free and fair elections in the state.
In a statement by the media aide to the Minister, he said, “His resort to blackmail, threats and more violence is a clear danger to the practise of democracy, to free and fair elections in Rivers State.”
The statement read further, “You would recall that Wike has been threatening INEC and INEC officials. Before the re-run elections, he threatened INEC officials coming to conduct the elections to write their wills before coming as if they were coming to die in Rivers State.
“Sadly, an INEC ad hoc staff, a youth corper was murdered. This is a classic case of the owl crying in the night and the baby not waking up in the morning.
“He threatened INEC before the elections and an INEC official sent to conduct election was murdered on election day, what other evidence do we need to know who is responsible for the death of the INEC official?”
“Wike is loose cannon, threatening INEC with violence, fire and brimstone. This is intolerable and completely unacceptable. No democracy can survive with Wike’s kind of attitude and disposition to elections.
“Wike can’t just go on and on threatening crisis, war and more violence just because of his desperation to win elections.”
Continuing, he said, “He’s all over the place, threatening crisis, threatening INEC with fire and brimstone, for INEC to release a result that does not even exist, in the first place. You can now understand the kind of desperate fellow we are dealing with here. This must not be allowed to continue. Wike cannot hold an entire state, hostage.  He’s a clear danger and threat to the practice of democracy, and free and fair elections in Rivers State.

Medical expert counsels patients on carbohydrate intake

Diabetes

A Consultant Endocrinologist, Dr Sule Bathner, has advised diabetic patients to consume carbohydrate foods with caution.

Bathner, who is also the Head of Department of Medicine, Federal Teaching Hospital, Gombe, gave the advice during the monthly meeting of members of the Diabetes Association of Nigeria (DAN), Bauchi chapter.
He said that unlike in the past when people with diabetes were discouraged from feeding on carbohydrate foods, they could now consume same, but with caution.
Speaking on the topic “Choose Carbohydrate Right” the medical expert recommended that such food items be eaten with excessive vegetable soup to aid digestion.
Bathner also said that the practice of removing the outer layer of carbohydrate food items, especially grains, before using same to prepare food, was inimical.
According to him, all the nutrients are lost and the person ends up consuming food that is not of any use to his or her body.
“I will advise that such grains be washed, dried and grinded with the outer layers that are the nutrients.
“If its potatoes boil it and remove only the thinner outer layer. Complete peeling before cooking removes the portion that is useful to the body,” he said.
He also advised people to be monitoring their hearts to remain healthy.
“If you breath heavily while engaging in a mildly strenuous activity whereas that was not the case before, check your heart because that could be a sign of heart problem,” he warned.

FG recommences subsidy payment

Fuel Scarcity

On Saturday, April 2, 2016, the Federal Government reportedly recommenced the payment of subsidy on petrol.

It was further reported that Nigerian government subsidized the commodity by N5.84 for every litre of premium motor spirit consumed in Nigeria.
The FG also announced that the current official pump prices of petrol would remain at N86 per litre when purchased at filling stations run by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation and N86.5 per litre when sold at outlets operated by other oil marketers.
It should be noted that the Nigerian government stopped subsidy on petrol in January 2016 after the review of the pricing template of the product by the government.

Nigeria's 110,000 barrel per day refinery in the northern city ofKaduna is expected to restart by mid-April, the head of the upstream division at the state oil company said on Saturday.
The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) halted crude flows to its refineries around mid-January after the key pipelines feeding the plants were attacked.
The refineries - in Kaduna, Port Harcourt and Warri - were then shut down a few days later.
"By the end of next week we will be ready to start receiving the crude oil," said Bello Rabiu, group executive director of upstream, during a tour of the Kaduna refinery.
"If crude comes and we actually get everything ready, we believe by the middle of this month everything will be running in the refinery," he said.
He did not mention operations at the Port Harcourt and Warri refineries. NNPC has said crude flows have started at the other refineries but there has been no word of them reopening.
Despite being Africa's largest crude exporter, Nigeria imports almost all of its gasoline.
On Tuesday, Minister of state for Petroleum Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu said Nigeria was in talks with oil majors Chevron, France's Total and Italy's ENI to get help revamping the ailing refineries.

Petrol shortage caused by greedy Nigerians - ASUU President

Fuel scarcity in Nigeria.

The President of the Academic Staff Union of Universities(ASUU), Dr Nasir Fagge has said that the ongoing fuel scarcity was caused by greedy Nigerians.

Fagge made the comment after paying a visit to the Vice-Chancellor of the Lagos State University (LASU) Professor Olanrewaju Fagbohun.
“All the problems arising now should have been envisaged and addressed before removing the subsidy. Government is supposed to know that some people will try to frustrate its effort and should have pre-empt that,” the ASUU president told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
“How will a government official utter conflicting statements that the fuel scarcity will be resolved on April 7, but later said it will be in the second week in April. That is unfair.
“Government officials should be held responsible for their promises and anyone who makes promise and failed to fulfill it should be eased out of the system,” he added.
Fagge further urged President Muhammadu Buhari, who also serves as the Minister of Petroleum Resources, to find an urgent solution to the fuel scarcity.
