Emir Abubakar Waziri, a first-class traditional ruler and emir of Deba in Gombe state, is dead.
The report said he died after battling an undisclosed ailment. He was the 36th Emir of Deba and ruled the town for 33 years.
The development was confirmed by the chairman of the Yamaltu/Deba local government area of Gombe, Haruna Samanja, who disclosed that the late emir was in 1984 to succeed his late grandfather.
The emir is survived by two wives, 27 children and many grandchildren.
His death is coming days after Dr Samuel Osaigbovo Ogbemudia, a former military governor of Edo state, died after a brief illness.
