The federal government on Thursday, September 6, approved the appointment of Ahmed Ahidjo as the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, Maiduguri, Borno state.
The appointment was announced in Abuja in a statement by Boade Akinola, the director of media and public relations in the federal ministry of health.
On his part, the minister of health, Isaac Adewole, reminded Ahidjo of the enormous responsibilities of his office.
Adewole also notified him of the yearnings of the people for effective and responsive healthcare services urging the new CMD to justify the confidence reposed on him by the President Muhammadu Buhari.
The minister also urged him to work with all stakeholders to ensure industrial harmony in the health sector and in support of President’s Change Agenda. Ahidjo’s appointment is for four years effective from September 3.
Meanwhile.President Buhari approved the appointment of new heads of federal agencies and renewed others.
Information on the appointments are in a statement signed by Olusegun Adekunle, the Permanent Secretary (General Services Office) Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation on Friday in Abuja.
For the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Adeola Adetunji, Mike Obadan, Justitia Nnabuko and Prof. Ummu Jalingo were appointed as non executive directors.
