Boris Johnson has resigned as Foreign Secretary amid a growing politic a crisis over the UK's Brexit strategy.
He is the second senior cabinet minister to quit within hours following Brexit Secretary David Davis's exit.
His departure came shortly before Theresa May began addressing Parliament about her new Brexit plan, which has angered many Conservative MPs.
She said she did not agree with the two ex-ministers about "the best way to honour" the result of the 2016 vote.
The BBC's political editor Laura Kuenssberg said Mr Johnson's exit had turned an "embarrassing and difficult situation for the PM into potentially a full-blown crisis".
She said he was not any ordinary cabinet minister but was the "face" of the Leave campaign during the 2016 referendum and his departure would fuel speculation about a leadership challenge.
She said she had been told by a source that either Theresa May "dumps" the plan signed off at Chequers or "another minister will go, then another, then another, then another".
The UK is due to leave the European Union on 29 March 2019, but the two sides have yet to agree how trade will work between the UK and the EU afterwards.
There have been differences within the Conservatives over how far the UK should prioritise the economy by compromising on issues such as leaving the remit of the European Court of Justice and ending free movement of people.
Theresa May only has a majority in Parliament with the support of the 10 MPs from Northern Ireland's Democratic Unionist Party, so any split raises questions about whether her plan could survive a Commons vote. There have also been renewed questions about whether she will face a challenge to her position.
For a long time it has been clear that Boris Johnson was not happy with the prime minister's Brexit strategy.
His dissatisfaction was more than just the odd off-colour remark, although goodness knows there were enough of them.
His departure is a huge story and turns what might have been a couple of days of significant turmoil, into a significant crisis for Theresa May and for the whole Brexit project.
He was Brexit's main cheerleader, the politician most associated with making it happen, and one of the best known politicians in the country, for good or ill.

Speaking in a boisterous House of Commons, Mrs May paid tribute to Mr Johnson's "passion" in championing a global Britain after Brexit and Mr Davis' work in steering through key Brexit legislation.
But she told MPs: "We do not agree on the best way to deliver our shared commitments to honour the result of the referendum."
Mrs May told MPs that the plan agreed by the cabinet at Chequers was the basis of a "responsible and credible" offer to restart renegotiations with the EU.
She said she had listened to "every possible version" of Brexit over the past two years and what she was proposing was the "right Brexit" that would respect the referendum commitments on money, borders and laws but also protect the economy and ensure a "smooth" departure.
But she warned that if the EU did not engage with her plan, there was a "serious risk" of the UK leaving in March 2019 without a deal in a "disorderly" manner.

'Illusion of unity'

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn said Mr Johnson and Mr Davis had abandoned a "sinking ship", shattering the the "illusion of unity" initially surrounding the Chequers plan.
"The Chequers compromise took two years to reach and two days to unravel," he said. "We have a crisis in government... it is clear this government cannot secure a good deal for Britain."
Mrs May came under pressure from prominent Tory Brexiteers on the backbenches, with ex-leader Iain Duncan Smith urging her to rule out further concessions during the talks.

Media captiAnd John Redwood said she must clear up "ambiguities and contradictions in the Chequers statement that implies we would give the European Court of Justice powers, we might pay money to trade, we might accept their laws and have their migration policies".
Former Tory chairman Grant Shapps, who last year called on Mrs May to consider her position, said it was the wrong time for a leadership contest and he hoped it would not happen.
He told the BBC a contest would take three months and "we physically do not have the time for that" given the UK is due to leave the EU next March and both sides want a Brexit deal by October.
Mr Johnson, who has been foreign secretary since June 2016, had been due to attend a summit on the future of the Western Balkans in London but did not show up - fuelling rumours about his imminent departure.
His departure was welcomed by former UKIP leader Nigel Farage, who said the ex-mayor of London had the chance to "save Brexit".

Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara state has faulted those linking him and Senate President Bukola Saraki to the robbery incident that claimed many lives in Offa.
The governor condemned the action during an interview on Channels TV.
“It is only laughable to see and hear that I would be involved, or the Senate President would be involved in a process that will be counterproductive to what we are putting resources in, to ensure that the lives and activities of people change for the better,” he said.
He wondered how such allegation could be made against him and the senate president despite the fact that they have spent many years trying to improve service delivery to the people.
“I think we should begin to look at more seriously how we should begin to take security issues because as it were, the economy of Kwara is highly dependent on commercial activities,” the governor said.
Previously the police have revealed circumstances that led to the invitation of Senate President Bukola Saraki over April 5 multiple bank robbery in Offa Kwara state.

Oshiomhole should learn from PDP in handling grievances of party members - Okupe

- A former senior special assistant on public affairs Doyin Okupe, says that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is resting on a shaky foundation
Doyin Okupe, former Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs to former President Goodluck Jonathan, on Monday, July 9, said.
Okupe stated this during an appearance on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily, saying: “The APC and the government are resting on a very shaking foundation right now. Promises have not been kept people are disappointed either for good or for bad.”
His comments are coming five days after a new faction of the APC emerged in Abuja. Okupe said the breakup was not unexpected after the merger of some political party into APC in 2014.
“APC is a caricature. The amalgamation I saw, I knew that these were immiscible elements and it is a matter of time (they will part ways),”he added.
The national chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole, following the emergence of the new faction, says the party under his watch would not be distracted by the exit of aggrieved party members.
However did not go down well with Okupe who criticised Oshiomhole for making such a comment despite his wealth of experience.
He said APC’s naional chairman should learn from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in handling the grievances of party members.
Okupe stated further: “Adams Oshiomhole is matured and experienced. I am surprised he is saying what he is saying.
“Filibustering or grandstanding for a national chairman is not it. If I was the APC National Chairman and that question was asked of me, I will say ‘well these are notable politicians among us. It is a pity they are taking this stand but we are still working on it. We are going to find a way and do something’.
“Then I will go behind and call my people and say look this is a serious matter, what are the threats here? How do we handle it?”
In a previous media report the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) filed a four-count charge against members of the newly formed Reformed- APC.
The national legal adviser of the APC, Babatunde Ogala, denounced the formation of the factional APC led by Buba Galadima.

Why 30,000 personnel deployed for Ekiti election - Police

The police has disclosed why they deployed 30,000 police personnel to Ekiti state ahead of Saturday, July 14 governorship elections
The spokesperson of Nigeria Police Force, Jimoh Moshood, on Sunday, July 8, explained why 30,000 police personnel were deployed to Ekiti state for the Saturday, July 14 governorship elections.
Moshood, who was a guest on Channels Television Breakfast programme, Sunrise Daily said Ekiti state is a ‘flashpoint’ and deploying 30,000 officers for the election is not an over-deployment but an adequate figure to ensure security.
“Ekiti is a flashpoint when it comes to politicking, you can remember what happened in the second republic, we don’t want a repeat of that.
“When the election is free and fair and election result is being announced, you still see people that want to disrupt the peace of other Nigerians.
“There is no over deployment in 30,000 police personnel, it is an adequate figure to ensure that everybody that has one business or the other that is authorised to play there role during the elections.”
Moshood, who is also a deputy commissioner of police explained further that the number of personnel deployed is not peculiar to Ekiti state only as same was done during Edo and Anambra elections.
He noted that the action was also prompted by ‘inciting’ statements by political leaders in Ekiti State.
“It is not only peculiar to Ekiti, in Edo, we deployed 25,000 police personnel. In Ondo, we deployed 26,000 and in Anambra, the same 26,000.
“We have carried out a threat analysis assessment throughout Ekiti state and we have confidence in our personnel to deliver appropriately.
“The utterance of stakeholders and leaders in Ekiti and other areas have been inciting and instigating.
“We want people to have the confidence that the police is capable of securing them, and for them to be free to come out and vote. We want the will of the people to carry the day.“
He added the commissioner of police in states such as Kogi, Kwara, Osun, Ondo and Oyo have been put on red alert and directed by the IGP to deploy massively and ensure that there is no influence and influx of hoodlums and miscreants infiltrating from their states into Ekiti to disrupt the poll.
It will be recalled that Nigeria Police deployed 30,000 personnel for the July 14 governorship election in Ekiti.
The personnel comprised of Police Mobile Force (PMF) Units, Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU), the Special Protection Unit (SPU), the Anti Bomb Squad (EOD), Conventional Policemen, the Armament Unit, personnel of FCIID and the Sniffer dogs section.
Other deployment include: two Patrol Surveillance Helicopters, five additional Armoured Personnel Carriers ( APC), 10 Armoured Personnel Vehicles and 250 Police patrol vehicles.

The inspiring life story of Nigeria upcoming artist

Kareem Waris Olamilekan, who is also known as Waspa, the bitty artist, is an incredible Nigerian artist, and he is only 11 years old. The art work you see above is of his own making. Yes, it took us some time too to come to terms with how talented he is.
The young artist was born on March 14, 2007. He started drawing when he was only six years old, and he drew comics and cartoons. The talent was apparent in his art, so when Kareem and his family moved to Iyana Ipaja, Lagos State two years after, he decided to pursue this hobby seriously.
At one point, Waris met a boy who turned out to be an apprentice at the Ayowole Academy of Arts, and he became interested in becoming one himself. The young prodigy showed his work to Adeniyi Adewole, the man who ran the school, and he was so impressed that he let Kareem join the academy and learn more about art.
These days, Kareem, or rather Waspa, is a student at the Oke-Odo Junior High School, and he continues perfecting his craft. While the artist usually works in the style of hyperrealism and uses pencils and pens as his tools, he sometimes exchanges them for paints and crayons as he works with face painting, murals on houses and his art school homework. His main inspirations are Arinze Stanley and Michelangelo.
When he just began drawing, Waspa admitted that he had not always had the means to support his passion. His family was not at all wealthy, so it was sometimes hard for him to get the necessary materials for his drawings.
Now, however, the boy is coming up in this world. His drawings of famous Nigerian politicians have gotten recognition from the politicians themselves, and not that long ago, Kareem was invited by the Managing Director of Ecobank to draw the President of France Emmanuel Macron.
In just two hours, he drew a striking portrait of the French President at the New Africa Shrine. The man from the picture seemed very impressed with Waspa’s talent, and he congratulated the young man in person and via his Twitter.
The word about Nigeria’s youngest artist in the genre of hyperrealism has spread far, and people all over the world have learned of this young talent. The story of Waspa was mentioned on CNN, broadcast on CGTN Africa and even on the BBC News, so the boy is finally getting the recognition he deserves.
Moreover, he is now taking commissions, so if you want to help him out and get some insanely amazing art from it, call him at 09090879307 or 09096971196. To check out his drawings, you can go to his Instagram page (@waspa_art), where his audience has almost reached 40 thousand, and marvel at the beauty of his works.

Speaking of his works, if you do not want to go through all of Kareem’s posts on Instagram (even though there are not that many), here are his best drawings he has ever posted on his page.
Here is an adorable self-portrait, where he seems to be having the time of his life. It is interesting to note that the artist was only ten when he made this.
This is a quick sketch (!) of Temmy Balogun, a writer and creator of temmybalogun.com. We cannot help but wonder how the artist has managed to achieve this perfection in a limited amount of time and how it could have looked if he had a few more hours.

Last, but certainly not least is the most famous work of Kareem’s, and it is his ‘Daily Bread’. With this painting, he wants to show how hard it is for some people to get some food to put on the table, thus the boy in the picture is sweating and crying while eating his meal.
As you can see, our Waspa is a unique individual whose talent greatly surpasses even those older than him by decades. But right now, let’s enjoy the beauty Kareem has already brought into this world.
